Foreign qualification

Operate in another state, in good standing.

When your company actually does business in a state other than its state of formation (office, employees, inventory…), that state may require a registration called foreign qualification. We prepare and coordinate the filing.

  • Review of whether registration is required
  • Certificate of good standing from your home state
  • Application prepared and filed
  • Registered agent appointed in the new state

ClicGlow fee: $499State fees, penalties and third-party costs extra

An obligation not to ignore

Doing business without registering can lead to penalties and may prevent the company from suing in that state.

One coordinated file

We gather the documents from both states and follow the filing until the state responds.

Costs shown separately

Our $499 fee is separate from state fees, which we share before filing.

When do you need to register?

Each state defines what it considers doing business: an office or warehouse, employees, contracts signed locally… Selling online to customers in a state usually does not require it.

If in doubt, we show you the criteria of the state concerned; for legal advice, consult an attorney.

FAQ: Foreign qualification

Does my online business need to register in every state where I have customers?

Usually not. Registration is tied to an actual presence (office, employees, inventory). Sales tax obligations are a separate question.

How long does registration take?

It depends on the state and its processing time, which we cannot guarantee.
